Month in Review: November 2015

Happy December Everyone!

I haven’t done a monthly “wrap up” since May…Wow it has been awhile. So, I wanted to do an update post on the different things I read and enjoyed during the month of November.  November has been a pretty great month for me. I’m so glad I got Thanksgiving break to relax a bit before the hectic (but amazing) holiday season!

Books I Read:

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

The Gap of Time by Jeanette Winterson

The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel

Obsidian and Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella

P.S. I Love You by Jenny Han – the perfect end to the duology

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

(Goodreads Pages are linked in the titles)

Wow I actually read a lot for me this month, and I am happy to say I really, really enjoyed most of these reads! I was introduced to some amazing new authors and series (Winner’s Curse, Colleen Hoover, Book of Ivy, etc), and I cannot wait to read more!

Book Reviews Posted:

Everything I Never Told You – my feels. definitely a favorite of the year

Gap of Time – made me want to read Shakespeare!

Walk on Earth a Stranger – Rae Carson writes the best female protagonists

Falling Kingdoms – middle-of-the-road review

The Winner’s Curse – an amazing start to a fantasy series

Honorable Mention: Goodreads Review of my first Colleen Hoover, Ugly Love

Really proud of myself for reviewing at least half of what I read! I am hoping to post and review a lot more in the future.

Movies and TV Shows:

I am still on my Friends watching binge.  I try not to binge-watch too much, so I’m only on season 6 right now.  I just have to say, Monica and Chandler are my absolute favorites!

In honor of the new Bond movie, I watched Casino Royale (Daniel Craig’s first Bond film) and absolutely adored it.  Can’t resist those spy movies.  In the spirit of spy movies, I also re-watched Kingsman: The Secret Service and loved it even more than the first time.  Colin Firth and Taron Egerton are baes, and Samuel L. Jackson is a kick-ass villain.

Finally, in theaters, I saw the finale of the beloved Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay Part 2.  Yes, I brought the tissues.  Being a book lover, I had some issues with the movie, but I still loved it and was sad to see the franchise end.  It has been a good 7 years. (Yes, I was a Hunger Games hipster).

Halsey and Adele. Enough said.

December Thoughts:

I don’t usually do TBRs because I can never follow them, but I am so excited for December.  I absolutely love the holiday season, and December is my favorite month.  I want to spend some time with my family and friends and holiday break will be the perfect time for that.

Reading wise, I always tend to gravitate towards fantasy novels during this time of the year (and all other times) and curl up next to the fire.  Cross my fingers on finishing The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson!

How was your November? What are you looking forward to in December? Tell me in the comments below!

Stay warm,
